Pharmacy Service Level Alliance

   Minimize

The Pharmacy Service Level Alliance (PSLA) consists of clinical leaders from urban and rural Canterbury with the common purpose of:

  • Recognising the role of pharmacists in the safe dispensing of medicines
  • Increasing the role of the pharmacist in the multi-disciplinary team
  • Improving patient concordance
  • Optimising the use of financial resources and patient outcomes.

Two major priorities of work activity have begun:

  • Revising the national pharmacy contract to develop a more flexible, less bureaucratic Canterbury agreement
  • Promoting the development of a new service model with general practice and pharmacy working together.

Here's your chance to be involved! Information has been sent out to pharmacies and general practices about the opportunity for demonstration sites to be funded to develop the new service model. National Contract

As stated above, Canterbury community pharmacy are looking to create a more flexible contract to support clinical innovation. While we accept a certain amount of detail must be included in a contract, we want to reduce any unnecessary barriers from the national contract and the procedures manual.
